He died on February 10, 2019 at the age of 55.
He is known for an infamous shoot incident with Earthquake/John Tenta in 1991, and for being one of very few yokozuna to become wrestlers. He was the founder and coach of Kitao Dojo, and was an inspiration for some AKI-era wrestling game animations.
