Jay Khonghun Biography

Jay Khonghun, whose full name is Jefferson Ferrer Khonghun, is a Filipino politician and engineer currently serving as the congressman for the first legislative district of Zambales, a province in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

Jay Khonghun’s political career started as a provincial board member of Zambales, where he served from 2004 to 2010.

He was then elected mayor of Subic, serving from 2010 to 2019. After his term as mayor, he won the vice governorship of Zambales in 2019, defeating the incumbent vice governor. In the 2022 elections, Khonghun ran for and won a seat in the House of Representatives under the Nacionalista Party, defeating Mitos Magsaysay.

In addition to his political roles, Jay Khonghun is also an engineer with a degree in Civil Engineering from Mapua University Manila.

He has also been involved in the management of NDK Builders, a construction company, before transitioning fully into politics.
