Doug has twice been named to the Harvard University Distinguished Authors Series and was named the Brock International Laureate for his contributions to education.
His volunteer activities include supporting doctoral students with free and non-commercial help at Finish The Dissertation, and providing individual assistance to disabled veterans who submit essays, poetry, and art to The SNAFU Review, for which Doug is the founding co-pub
